From the history of cellular therapy
For more than 80 years the most prestige clinics in sanitation and rejuvenation in Europe and America
offer their patients treatment by means of cellular therapy (also
called cell therapy), and receive more and more new and fantastic results.
But not everybody knows that our compatriot professor C.Vorontsov was the founder of cellular
therapy method. While working in 1920s in Paris he was the first who obtained positive
results in patients, who were considered incurable.
However, the most amazing was the effect of age stabilization and rejuvenation,
which really was proved not only by a patient’s objective sensations, but also by his appearance
and laboratory tests.
For a long time scientists only guessed about reasons of such an incredible success and application
of fetal tissues. Acting “by touch”, they could not use all the opportunities, that
stem cells deliver to modern humans.
The first breakthrough happened in 1981, when American scientist Martin Evans revealed and isolated
embryonal stem cells – precursors for all organism cells - from mouse fetus.
Being already aware that analogous cells must be in human organism as well, the scientists
nevertheless could not isolate them for a long period of time. Only in 1998 American researchers James
Thomson and John Becker succeeded in this issue. They managed to obtain several immortalized
self-reproducible cell lines of human embryonal stem cells.
In accordance with opinion of a number of specialists, this was the third most important event in XX
century biology. Nowadays stem cells are widely used not only in scientific
laboratories, but in medical facilities as well. In spite of rather short term that has passed after
their discovery, many treatment methods with cell technologies already have become routine.
First of all, this is transplantation of bone marrow, blood stem cells, restoration of dermal
epidermis in burns treatment and in cartilage damage treatment. Treatment with biopreparations
of stem cells is used also in many other diseases, including those, which constitute the
main problem of modern society – cancer, pancreatic diabetes, cardio-vascular diseases,
disseminated sclerosis, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, and also in many other
illnesses.
Today scientists already can create biopreparations, “targeted” toward one or another
disease. This allows to restore human health in maximally short terms and to achieve the best results.
During decades of clinical practice irrefutable evidences of safety and effectiveness of
cellular therapy have been accumulated. |
