Application of physical factors is traditionally considered to be an important component in prophylaxis and treatment of different diseases. Physical factors may be primary or subsidiary method in complex of treatment measures that include medicinal therapy, surgery, therapeutic exercises, diet, etc.

Department of Physiotherapy of the Institute of Cellular Therapy clinic offers modern methods of physiotherapy treatment exclusively in individual manner and only after strict assessment of its indications and contraindications. In some diseases physiotherapy is often the only efficient treatment method. For example, chronic pelvic pain as consequence of commissural process and pelvic nerves neuralgia causes physical and moral sufferings in patients, impairing normal way of life and harmony of sexual relations.

From the big variety of physiotherapeutic methods the newest and effective ones are used. Physiotherapeutic procedures, selected by us, most of all comply with the concept of rehabilitation and prophylaxis of the diseases, that are treated in our clinic. We use different kinds of massage, electrotherapy, reflex- and microresonance therapy. New methods are introduced into medical practice of physiotherapeutic department. Apart from classical acupuncture new methods of puncture were introduced: electropuncture, phonopuncture (effecting biologically active points with ultrasound).

Physiotherapy methods are based on the fact, that physical (electrical, radial, magnetic and other) energy, absorbed by living tissues, is transformed into biological reactions. Final treatment result depends on the exact factor, quantity and single dose of procedures received. Optimal effect of physiotherapy application comes not after the provision of a single influence, but after several procedures (treatment course). Electrotherapy helps in functional diseases, it is used for treatment of inflammatory, traumatic, dystrophic joints diseases, in some diseases of central nervous system and internal organs.

Duration of physiotherapeutic procedures is from 10 up to 40 minutes. Primary effect from the procedure can be experienced after its completion, usually, in form of pleasant feelings of warmth and relaxation, which last up to several hours. However, to obtain a fixed curative effect 5-10 procedures are needed.

Physiotherapeutic methods of treatment are widely used in the Program of Puerperium Rehabilitation, that is provided in the Institute of Cellular Therapy.

Physiotherapy application in puerperium period decreases significantly the possibility of puerperium endometritis development.

The following are contraindications for physiotherapeutic procedures: acute inflammatory processes, blood diseases, benign and malignant tumors, disposition to bleedings, blood circulation insufficiency higher than of second degree, angina decubitus, cardiac asthma, heart and vessels aneurism, frequent paroxysmal rhythm distortions, severe clinical course of chronic ischemic heart disease with frequent stenocardia attacks, as well as sudden exacerbation of all diseases.

Radiotherm® 906 is a physiotherapeutic instrument for continual and pulsed microwave superhigh-frequency (SHF) therapy. It is a method of treatment, based on application of microwaves – electromagnetic field of super-high frequency.

Thermal and non-thermal effect on the body surface is provided. As a result of a certain zone deep heating the following events take place there: intensification of cellular processes, neutralization of tissue inflammations, anaesthetization, cramps reversal, and intensification of phagocytosis.

SHF rank intermediately in the spectrum of electro-magnetic waves between ultrahigh-frequency waves and infrared waves. This position determines physical properties of microwaves, that are specific to radio waves of ultrahigh frequency (ability to penetrate to biological tissues) and to infrared waved (repulse, reflection, absorption by biological tissues).

SHF-therapy causes regulating, stimulating effect on nervous, endocrine systems, and metabolism. Under microwave action normalization of great and peripheral vessels’ tonus, activation of microcirculation processes (acceleration of capillary bloodstream, its dilation), increase of blood oxygenation, regulation of vascular permeability, improvement of oxidation-reduction processes and tissue trophism are registered. SHF-therapy facilitates glucocorticoid function of adrenal gland and suppression of allergic reactions, normalization of synovial membrane trophism by activation of vegetative nervous system (predominantly, its sympathetic branch).

SHF-therapy renders physiological and healing action. Irradiation leads to generation of reflex and neurohumoral reactions. Under its influence vessels dilate, functioning capillaries increase in number, blood flow and lymph flow get intensified, anti-inflammatory and resorption effects are rendered.

Indications for SHF-therapy: acute, sub-acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of paranasal sinus, auris media, tonsils, respiratory organs (bronchitis, acute, protracted and chronic pneumonia), odontogenic inflammations of upper and lower jaws, sub-acute and chronic inflammatory traumatic and dystrophic diseases of locomotor organs (myositis, epicondylitis, intervertebral osteochondrosis, deforming osteoarthrosis, bursitis, sprain, contusion), sub-chronic and chronic genital organs diseases (salpingo-oophoritis, prostatitis, epididymitis), post-surgical infiltrates, furuncles, hydradenitises, trophic ulcers, stomach and duodenal ulcers at the phase of decaying exacerbation, gastroduodenitises, chronic gastritis, hepatitis.

Contraindications: malignant neoplasia, active tuberculosis, pregnancy, thyrotoxicosis, systemic blood diseases, presence of metal bodies in tissues, blood circulation insufficiency higher than of second degree, chronic ischemic heart disease, heart and brain infarction, heart and vessels aneurism, paroxysmal heart rhythm distortion, ulcer disease with pyloric stenosis and with suspicion for penetration, antral gastritis, epilepsy. Contraindications are also electronic implants, endoprosthetic devices, metal insertions in different parts of the body, tuberculosis.

HiTop®182 is the instrument for high-tone resonance therapy. Apparatus impulses cause resonance oscillations of intracellular structures, that startup the whole cascade of cellular processes. Intensive detoxication and cells “rejuvenation” occurs, their potential grows, metabolism and energy production intensifies. At tissue level it is manifested in edema, pain, and inflammations liquidation, in acceleration of recovery processes. Apparatus has two channels. Therapeutic algorithms of frequencies are calculated for all kinds of treatment. Instrument can be used for medical and rehabilitation purposes. At the area of sport medicine the instrument is used for lipolysis, cellulite treatment, fat burning.

Indications: pain treatment, myorelaxation, energy consumption increase, rehabilitation, fat disintegration (decrease in fat cells number), edema treatment, recovery treatment for total rejuvenation.

For all kinds of treatment therapeutic algorithms of frequencies are calculated.

It is possible to treat patients, suffering from varicose dilatation, that have metal implants, endoprosthetic devices and open wounds (ulcus cruris).

Duration of therapeutic session is 5-40 min., standard duration is 30 min.

It is possible to operate on two independent channels.

Two modes of operation for therapeutic and rehabilitation purposes SimulFAM I and SimulFAM X.

Universal-Neuroton® 926 as therapeutic instrument is used for pain relief, muscular cramps, for treatment of general or local muscle tissue degeneration, paralysis, in peripheral nervous system diseases, in peripheral blood flow disorders. Instrument generates 36 forms of electric current. There is a module of ultrasound therapy with continual or pulse action for combination of electro- and ultrasonic therapy. As electrodiagnostic instrument, it determines accommodation, chronaxia, rheobase and acupuncture points. Apparatus permits to perform complete non-invasive diagnostics of peripheral paralysis. It is possible to use direct current (galvanization, medicinal electrophoresis), pulse currents (interference therapy, electric stimulation and others). Treatment with pulse currents relives vessels and smooth muscles spasm, that facilitates blood supply to tissues, renders anesthetic effect.

Indications:

Millimeter-wave therapy (MMV-therapy) – is a method of electric treatment, based on allocation of electromagnetic wave of super-high frequency. Electromagnetic millimeter waves are the waves, that propagate in space, medias and tissues with frequency from 30 till 300 MGH, that corresponds to the wave length from 10 till 1 mm. In medical practice non-thermal intensities are applied, that does not cause increase of local tissue temperature for more, then 0.1º C.
